Rebecca has worked in the student accommodation sector since 2008. She advises on all elements of the student experience including Residence Life, University Partnerships, private sector operators and developers and is generally recognised as one of the highest profile student affairs individuals in the student accommodation sector in the UK.

Rebecca has exceptional direct work experience and is currently the Assistant Director (Residence Life & Accommodation Office) at the University of Leeds. She recently completed an MA in Student Affairs in Higher Education (Distinction) from Anglia Ruskin University and her research focused on the recruitment and induction of Accommodation Managers into PBSA.

Rebecca previously worked in the UK’s largest Students’ Union at the University of Manchester overseeing the duties and responsibilities of 25 student resident associations. She then moved to Campus Living Villages leading their national Residence Life programme. She has won multiple awards across the sector and is a regular panel speaker. Of particular note, she was the first person from PBSA to win the CUBO Residence Life Professional of the year award in 2019.

At Campus Living Villages, she conducted an extensive review of their Residence Life programme, implemented a new model and framework in 2015. Since its introduction, the quantity of activity available to residents increased by 516% and engagement rose each year from 33% to 70%. Via annual resident surveys, cohorts of residents reported the programme made a significant and positive impact to their living and wider student experience.

Rebecca is passionate about inclusivity and dealing with specific issues such as mental health, developing the “Picturing Mental Health” project which won the Class of 2020 Outstanding Wellbeing Initiative in 2019. This project was the catalyst for the CLV’s first mental health symposium. She was a member of the ASRA committee acting as their Northern Rep from 2016 to 2018 and is currently Chair for the ACUHO-I Global Initiatives Network based in North America. She also co-founded and co-hosts the Student Affairs podcast
